DOUBLE BRONZE FOR MANITOBA AT THE 2007 CANADA WINTER GAMES!

Wow, George, Marissa and the team have done it!  Without checking into it exactly, I can say that it looks like these are Manitoba Table Tennis’s best ever results at the Canada Winter Games*:  Terry Zhang (age 13) wins Bronze in the Boys under 15 Event and Frederick Eng wins Bronze in the Boys Under 18 Years Event!  Way to go guys!  Also, the rest of the team-most of them very young-put in outstanding performances as well!  I’ve been around for the ’87, ’91, ’95, ’99 and 2003 Games and I don’t think we’ve ever had as many players finishing as high in the individual singles events as the players from this team:

BOYS UNDER 15:  Terry 3rd/ 22 players & William Liu (only age 11!) 11th/ 22;

GIRLS UNDER 15:  Xichi Yang (age 12) 13th /21 & Allaria Odorico (only age 11!) 14th /21;

BOYS UNDER 18:  Fred Eng (age 15) 3rd/ 22 & Patrick Serda 6th/ 22;

GIRLS UNDER 18:  Alexandra Dzioba 8th/22 & Lucy Liu (age 15) 10th/22.

In the team event we finished 5th/11.  So well done all…excellent results for a team that overall is pretty young…the future looks bright and I expect some returnees for the 2011 Games…
